Mountain Adventure Holidays
A snowshoe holiday is simply a winter walking holiday made easier. Using modern snowshoes you will avoid sinking deeply into the snow so that walking in a winter mountain environment is a less strenuous experience. You require a reasonable level of fitness, but for most of our trips no previous experience of snowshoeing is required.
Snowshoeing is the perfect way to explore the mountains and valleys in winter. Snowshoes have studs on the base to grip on firm or icy trails, and are designed in such a way that you walk 'normally'. Snowshoeing allows you to get away from the crowds, and into a magical winter wonderland of silent forests, beautiful mountains and stunning views.
On snowshoe trips we share our local knowledge about the flora and fauna, local traditions, snow science and how to choose the best route for the conditions. You don't need any previous experience to snowshoe, just warm clothes, reasonable fitness and a sense of adventure.

The 'Land of the Giants' is a winter paradise. Home to Norway's highest mountains the Jotunheim contains 250 mountains which rise to over 2000m (6560ft). We spend our trip at the head of Lake Gjende which offers beautiful views and gives a feeling of remoteness and connecting with unspoilt nature.
